MATANO MADH

Located 138 km from the city of Bhuj, Mata No Madh is a historical temple dedicated to Jadeja deities and is situated west of Kakkadbhit. The original 1200 year old temple was demolished during the earthquake of 1819 AD

This is a famous temple of Mata Ashapura of Kutch region. This temple is also known as Desh Devi Maa Ashapura of Mata no Madh. Ashapura Mata temples are there in other cities of Gujarat , Maharashtra and Rajasthan but the main temple is located at Mata no Madh in Kutch. During Navaratri time a village mela or festival is organized here. This is a famous temple and devotees travel by foot from different distance locations to visit the temple and to get blessings of Maa Durga. During Navaratri festival devotees came walking from Mumbai, Jamnagar, Ahmedabad, Rajkot and other places. It will take nearly 10 days to visit temple from Rajkot. Many use cycle to cover the distance. During Navaratri nearly 1 lakhs devotees visit temple in a day. To help devotes camps are arranged with free food, tea, coffee, medicine and other facilities are arranged at different locations on the road leading towards the temple.
